This is a picture of one of our last District Meetings with these Elders: (Front row) Elder Skyles (he is taking my place, us, Elder Amoah (one of the mission assistants). Back row: Elder Anderson (office elder), Elder Motuliki, Elder Williams(office elder) Elder Harnois (mission assistant) and Elder Panton (he is taking Elder Garrisons place) (Elder Beck was taking the picture). We will miss these wonderful elders so much. They really are a great group! This is Prince and Mabel. They are independent contractors that do various projects for the church buildings in Kumasi. We met them right when we came to Kumasi and they were always so kind and friendly. We will miss them too! This picture was taken the last Friday night that we (us, the Kunzes and the Moomeys) all went to our favorite place to eat (and one of the only choices we had...) Piri Piri. We met every Friday night at 5:30pm and had dinner together and played some rou...

We said good-bye to the last set of missionaries on Monday. Bittersweet for sure.....at times I cannot believe that this is the last transfer that we will be here for. It has been a honor and a blessing to serve these dedicated missionaries during the past 18 months. Here is a picture of the group of missionaries that arrived this week straight from the Ghana MTC! Elder Beck was in Kumasi for MLC. He told me about these two 12 year old little boys that dress up everyday in their white shirts and ties and go with them to do missionary work! I asked him to send me a picture of them......it just melts my heart that 12 year old little boys would do this every day. I really cannot imagine that would be something most 12 year old boys would choose to do......but hey, this is Ghana! Here they are following Elder Motuliki as he is about doing this work.......I LOVE this picture so so much! This week was the last MLC that we will be here for. ...

Last week we attended our last Zone Conference. We also had the privilege (?) to give a presentation at one of the conferences. Our topic was combatting temptation. As the centerpiece of our discussion we showed the video from a talk called "Spiritual Crocodiles" that was given by President Packer. If you have never seen it, it is worth the watch and you can find it on You Tube. We had a good discussion. After our presentation, we were sitting in the back listening to the instruction, I looked around the room and noticed that most of our companionships in the mission are a combination of an African elder and an American elder. (We do NOT have any American sisters in this mission.) The thought just occurred to me what a wonderful experience for those friendships to occur and what a different world this would be if we could really get to know people that are from different cultures than we are used to. I think the world would ...

I snapped this picture the other night after being at the office all day. This lady has a regular SHOE STORE on her head. It is incredible how much they can carry usually with a baby on their backs! Every transfer I create a page for the bulletin board with the pictures and names of the missionaries that will be departing the new transfer and another one for the missionaries that will arrive. So this is above my desk now in the office. Every time I look at it it takes me by surprise that we will be leaving in such a short time. Trying to savor all the wonderful things about Ghana and serving here in the GKM. The time has just flown by really. I will admit that some days/weeks dragged but looking back I really cannot believe we are where we are now! Crazy..... I have written before about how the funerals here are a BIG deal. I have posted pictures of the giant billboards that are posted about the funerals and the clothes t...
