A couple of Sundays ago we visited the Obuasi 3rd Branch.  I attended Relief Society.  This is the meeting that the women have and it is held  on the 2nd and 4th Sundays.  Up until lately I haven't been attending Relief Society because Elder Garrison and I had been teaching Primary (the children's organization) in the Obuasi 4th Branch.  The lady on the left is Monica and the lady on the right is Tracy. Tracy taught the lesson and I wish you all could have been there to hear it!  She told so many stories about the miracles that have come into her life because she has faith in Jesus Christ.  It was delightful to see her up in front of the other women and almost pleading with them, to just exhibit a little bit of faith and promising them if they would, they would be so blessed.  It was a treat to be there with them.   The above three pictures are all examples of how people here serve up food from the side of the road or in front of where they l...

It was Elder Kpornu's 21st birthday this past week so we made him put on the birthday hat and we sung happy birthday to him.  He is just an absolute pleasure to work with.  He is one of our office Elders and so we get to see him and his companion, Elder Ison almost every day.  Elder Kpornu grew up mostly in Egypt but he is Ghanaian.  He has the best personality and testimony of the gospel.  We feel blessed to know him! On Saturday, we traveled to Obuasi to hold a district training for the organizations there.  I had the task and privilege of training the Relief Society ladies. Sister Moomey trained the Young Women and Sister Kunz did the Primary.  I applaud these women for their devotion and dedication.  It just isn't that easy to do all that they are asked to do to carry out the Relief Society in these small branches.  But they do their best and do it with happy hearts.  What would a blog post be without a cute picture of one of the dar...
